Teams remain the fundamental social system for innovation. What changes is their reach. Across four eras, from component teams through full-stack and DevOps teams to the AI-Enhanced Team, each new generation of tools lets a Team own more of the value chain, until software teams turn into business teams. The session closes with four steps for reshaping teams: map the landscape from the customer, start small with forward deployed engineers, keep the team and strengthen its foundation, and slice organization and product together.
