Outevolve

outevolve /aʊtɪˈvɒlv/ verb. To consciously direct the evolution of a system at a rate that consistently outpaces the rate of change in the surrounding environment, markets, and competition.

Coined by Peter Beck and Andreas Schliep as the central imperative of AME3. The term combines “out-” (to surpass) with “evolve” (to develop gradually through adaptation). An enterprise that outevolves does not predict the future or plan its way to a fixed destination. It consciously directs its own evolution, learning faster than the system around it changes, guided by three strategic doctrines: Empirical Control, Overall Optimization, and Evolution Focus.
