Rewilding Software Engineering

Chapter 1: Introduction (Medium) | Moldable Development

A book by Tudor Girba and Simon Wardley, published as a series on Medium/feenk (Feb 2025 - Jan 2026), CC BY-NC-SA 4.0. Software engineering is primarily a decision-making activity about systems too large to fully grasp. The authors propose Moldable Development: creating contextual micro tools to answer specific questions about specific systems. On LLMs: they are “coherence engines, not truth engines,” producing what sounds plausible, not what is accurate. The right use is building tools, not replacing human judgment.
